Most times, candles are categorized based on the materials used in making them. Eventually, these materials determine the output of the candle- talk about the fragrance, type of flame that burns and of course, how long the candle will last. At this point, we shall be taking you through a couple of materials used in making candles:

Paraffin wax

Candles made from paraffin wax are the most common types and this could be down to the fact that they are easily accessible and are not difficult to work on. These sets of candles are usually incorporated with about 10% stearin in order to make them burn for a longer period.

Beeswax

This is another commonly adopted material in the production of candles. Though relatively more expensive than paraffin wax, it is a healthier option than the latter as it (beeswax) does not give off any harmful substance while the candle burns.

Bayberry wax

Bayberry wax is gotten from the surface of the bayberry fruit. Bayberry wax imposes a natural fragrance on the candle. However, the low point of this kind of candle is that it cannot withstand a temperature that is above 45° hence it is often mixed with beeswax- which is much stronger.

Soy wax

Soy wax is another interesting material used by chandler in making scented candles. These candles are known to burn slowly- thereby lasting longer- and they are eco-friendly since they do not produce any toxin.
